St Martin de Porres Primary School uses Apple Macintosh computers. There is a well equipped computer laboratory consisting of 17 iMacs, scanner, digital camera, video camera, colour and black & white laser printers, 2 iPods, projector & screen and a mini DV-to-VCR player.
In addition to this, in 2006 25 new iMac computers were purchased for the Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students to use. These iMacs have cameras built in, bluetooth, wireless communications and dual core processors.
The iMac computers have an abundance of creative software including Photoshop Elements, MS Office, Comic Life, KidPix, iPhoto, GarageBand and more.
A mini-lab was built outside the senior classrooms with 5 of the new iMacs. This allows for potentially 10 students to have access to computers from any one class at a given time.
Staff all have laptop computers that they use to design units of work and keep producing high quality resources for the students to use.
The whole school's computer system is networked to ensure maximum student interaction with the technology, and seamless integration of the technology into all subjects taught. Answer: Take away the 's'
